AWS welcomes Skaylink to its Managed Service Provider Partner Program
Garching near Munich – Amazon Web Services (AWS) has welcomed Skaylink to the AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner Program. The decision was made following a comprehensive audit by an independent third party, making Skaylink one of only six AWS partners headquartered in Germany to have earned this validation. This builds on the company’s existing status as an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner and reinforces a business model that currently supports the AWS environments of more than 100 customers. A significant portion of these customers operate in regulated environments – financial services, the automotive industry, public administration, and critical infrastructure – with workloads where downtime and security incidents have immediate business and regulatory consequences.
What is the AWS MSP Partner Program?
The AWS MSP Partner Program is one of the most rigorous quality certifications in the AWS Partner Network. It is reserved exclusively for partners who have their managed services validated through a comprehensive audit conducted by an independent third party. The audit covers operational processes, security, automation, customer success, and the financial stability of the managed services organization.
Operating and modernizing customer applications
Skaylink is responsible for operations not only up to the infrastructure level, but for enterprise customers – via SRE teams – deep into the application stack. This includes:
- Proactive operation with 24/7 monitoring and defined response and recovery times
- Migrating and modernizing existing workloads without downtime, from lift-and-shift environments to containerized and serverless architectures
- Security and compliance in accordance with AWS best practices, tailored to NIS2 and industry-specific requirements
- Continuous cost optimization with FinOps, as well as automation of recurring operational tasks, increasingly supported by AIOps
- DevOps and SecDevOps services across the entire delivery chain
Our goal is to make our customers’ AWS platforms more secure and cost-effective step-by-step while they remain in operation, rather than simply maintaining their stability.
Managed AI and data – going beyond traditional MSP
Traditional managed services stop at the infrastructure. Skaylink also operates its customers’ data and AI platforms as a managed service – with the same commitments in terms of availability, security, and cost control that apply to the rest of its operations.
- Operating data platforms: Data lakes, streaming, and processing pipelines are monitored based on the availability of the data products rather than just the underlying servers
- Operating productive AI applications on Amazon Bedrock: Inference, retrieval paths, and agent workflows with monitoring, guardrails, and defined incident handling
- Cost management for AI workloads: Inference and token costs as a distinct FinOps discipline, with transparency at the application and team levels
- Governance and traceability: Data storage, access control, and logging in accordance with the same requirements that customers in regulated environments place on any other business-critical application
As an authorized reseller of Anthropic’s Claude models on Amazon Bedrock, Skaylink provides a one-stop solution for model access, integration, and operation. The difference between this and project management comes down to the operating model: AI applications aren’t just handed off; they’re taken over – with on-call support, a change management process, and measurable response times.
Sovereign operation: AWS European Sovereign Cloud
The AWS European Sovereign Cloud has been generally available since January 2026. Its first region is located in Brandenburg, and it is physically and logically separated from all other AWS regions. This shifts the issue of sovereignty from the data center to operations: The critical factors are who operates the workloads there, under what legal framework, and with what staff.
Skaylink provides managed services through operations and SRE teams based in Germany, making it one of the few AWS partners capable of fully managing the day-to-day operation of regulated workloads from within Germany. In May 2026, Vodafone and AWS announced a multi-year strategic partnership for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, specifically mentioning Skaylink’s AWS-certified experts who assist companies and public sector clients with migration – including sovereign landing zone architectures.
